A marine inverter charger is a versatile electrical device that converts DC power to AC power (like an inverter), but also charges batteries from shore/generator power (like a charger). This is often accouplished with an automatic transfer switch for seamless power source switching. This provides power for appliances when off-grid, and efficiently manages battery charging when plugged in.

Petrel Marine has experience with Victron, Magnum, Xantrex and Promariner Inverter installations and Inverter / Chargers. In addition to installing units in standalone systems, our experience includes stacking of units to create 240/120V systems for large power, multi-phase or split-phase systems. These systems are often coupled with battery monitoring systems such as the Victron BMV series, Magnum BMK or Xantrex Link.
